We all know that Family Guy has been on for almost 20 years and like most running shows it's not what it used to be. On most forums a lot of people on the internet treat the show like snarkbait a trope that has been making the show as a whole look bad for many years.
1. The hatedom.
For example The toptens.com www.thetoptens.com/worst-family-guy-characters/ list created by some person named FreddyGodzilla who gives the show a bad. The deviantart hate art, revenge fanfictions and original characters of Meg killing her entire family has become repetitive and downright hateful towards the other characters. Yes the characters aren't the same but the character bashing has become so concentrated on a negative level that I personally think we need to fight the hatedom back through positive responses and nuance criticisms without gettting angry over epsiodes. Have you guys witnessed the whole Spongebob fandom vs. Hatedom? toxic-fandoms-and-hatedoms.wikia.com/wiki/SpongeBob_SquarePants_Hatedom?li_source=LI&li_medium=wikia-footer-wiki-rec. Aside from Spongebob, on the other toxic fandoms and hatedoms wikia includes the cartoon community in general, Rick and Morty, South Park, The Simpsons, Gravity Falls, and many more toxic communities. Thie vocal minority needs to go away. We need to help the writiers fix the show again. The silent majority needs to takeover.
2. The writers. The Classic Vs. Modern Family Guy needs to end. It's still the same show.
The writing in Family Guy has always been very flawed. We definitely need new blood for the show to become great again. We also have to trust the writers again.
There's a very wise YouTube commentator named the RPG Monger whose really great at calling out all the bad aspects of every fandom that includes Sonic, Under tale, and RWBY, etc. I love all the seasons in their own rights. I'm not going to force you to like the earlier and later seasons but not every season was perfect. If we want the show to redeem itself we need to talk to the writers on social media without insulting them even if the episodes were bad.
3. The Fandom: All of you are amazing fans. I know we will have split arguments about the plots, characters, and whatever the writers perspectives were trying to make us critically think about their social commentary. But we need to respect everyone's opinions and thoughts. We need to stop being entitled. Characters we love and hate, used to hate and love deserve better support then ever. Hating on characters has become so toxic that none of the characters deserve to be under the Scrappy trope of universally hated characters which in my opinion is completely unwarranted. In my opinion tvtropes.org is the most god awful website in existence. That website is full of pretentious hypocrites who label tv and movie characters to ridiculous tropes however they want.
Any thoughts and opinions? Let me know what you think. Do you all think the show should transform its content into something so unrecognizable in a very interesting way to win back its fans who left the fandom years ago?
