The Orville has captivated Star Trek fans on a large Scale.
I play Star Trek Online (STO), It has rich content and artwork, an active LIVE exchange for players to sell and buy things from each other.
It has a good continuing Single Player content being created, but they ignore requests to update and improve Player vs. Player (PvP) content and dynamics.
As many more new ship become avalible with excellent art work, the PvP dynamics/laws of physics is not being updated to player feed back, it becomes less and less fun to play every month EVEN with the new ships avalible.
I think a game like Orville Online would become extremely popular.
As CBS continues to fail upholding it's Star Trek fans (nerd base) and moves in an attempt to capture new audiences in a stupid way that is causing us to fall asleep during the show, The Orville will become the new Sci Fi show of this century once current Star Trek fans fully learn of its existance.
To create a video game similar to Star Trek Online that is fun to play in all aspects would be an excellent idea if they are not already working on it.
Today in 2019 First / Third person shooter game engines are cheep to obtain licensing for delivering good graphics that work on currently selling computers without extreme video card setups, allowing the lap top user to play and even tablet user.
As Star Trek Online game engine most costly feature is protecting it's content from being reverse engineered that doesn't even work, Orville Online can concentrate upon anti-cheating and security thus keeping players accounts safe for a more cost effective start and continuing budget.
To buy a new ship on Star Trek Online costs about $30 unless there is a sale or anniversary giveaway, or grinding away for months to save enough currency in game to purchase a ship.
I WANT TO PLAY ORVILLE ONLINE !!!!!
