I felt it did have to apply to Family Guy, so I think it does belong here.
I did not notice this until pretty recently. As I watched some of the more "Golden age" of Family Guy (seasons 1-5), I noticed that it seems that there is not a lot of female representation on the show. Now, I do not mean to be an SJW feminist because those people are just fucking pains, but I am just saying that I noticed that there seem to be two different types of women on Family Guy. The first type are the skinny, sexy, ditzy, sometimes stupid sluts who are usually shown in underwear or swimsuits or are willing to sleep with Brian, and a lot of them do not have a lot of personality, and when they do, it seems to be showing them in a negative light. Take Lois, for example. She is basically a bitch, no other word to really describe her (sorry Lois fans) and has an annoying voice and is kinda cold-hearted and savage, and was a former pornographic actress, drug addict, shoplifter, and openly laughs at other people's misfortunes (like in "Brian's Got a Brand New Bag", instead of congratulating Brian on getting a new girlfriend who likes him, she openly laughs and mocks him simply because "she's old"). Other women follow that same pattern, not really any that I can pinpoint right now, but I am sure that if I thought enough about it I can do it. There are also the women like Jillian who again are drop-dead gorgeous but fucking brainless and fucking moronic, like almost to the point of where she cannot function on her own as an adult in the real world. If not that, then a lot of them, and I mean 90% of the women are all skinny and pretty in at least some way.
And the other type that is shown is the other extreme and goes for the other main female character, Meg. She is basically perceived as "ugly" and "fat" and is constantly harassed and abused, often with no remorse from the abusers and literally fucking everyone in this sick universe hates her more than Satan, Hitler and Harvey Weinstein put together. She is scum, lower than dirt of shit and does not deserve to even fucking live.
And don't think I am just including Family Guy, there is also some of that in American Dad! with the character of Francine being the hot-as-hell, drug addict, sex addict somewhat psychopath, although personally I think Francine is far funnier than Lois, but that just goes down to a matter of opinion. I am the American Dad Fanatic after all, so that of that what you will. I cannot speak for Cleveland Show as I have not seen it enough times to judge all the female characters on the show.
This is how I feel Seth MacFarlane views women. As either those two extremes. And I think there is a lot of evidence for this, if you look at already this show is a mouthpiece to voice his backwards views on everything through him playing Brian Griffin's character, that there is only one recurring female writer on the FG writing staff (Cherry Chevapravatdumrong), and the fact that he has never been married before. I may be wrong in this or "thinking too far into it" but I feel like I wanted to discuss this as it had been on my mind recently.
If I think of more stuff, I will add to it.
